Faith Minute

Privacy Policy

Faith Minute is a daily Islamic learning app. This page explains exactly what it collects, why each piece is needed, who else can see it, and how to make it go away.

Last updated 3 September 2026

The short version. Faith Minute has no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no tracking across other apps or websites. It stores your email address, your name, the age range and gender you choose during onboarding, and your own learning progress. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone who is not helping run the app.

Who is responsible for your data

Faith Minute is operated by [[LEGAL NAME]], based in Tunisia. Under the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation we are the data controller for the information described below — meaning we decide what is collected and why, and we are the ones you hold responsible for it.

You can reach us at any time at support@faithminute.app.

What we collect, and why

Your account

When you create an account we store your email address and your name. The email address is how you sign in — Faith Minute has no passwords at all, so each time you sign in we email you a six-digit code. The name is used to greet you on the home screen, and nowhere else.

If you sign in with Google or Apple instead, we receive your email address and name from them and store the same two things. We do not receive your password, and we cannot see anything else in your Google or Apple account. If you use Apple’s Hide My Email, we only ever see the relay address Apple gives us.

Your age range and gender

During onboarding we ask for your age range (14–24, 25–34, 35–44, 45–54, or 55+) and your gender. We store the answer you choose, not your date of birth.

We ask because we are building towards lessons that suit the person reading them — a reflection written for a teenager and one written for a grandparent are not the same reflection. Today these two answers do not yet change what you see in the app. They tell us who Faith Minute is actually for, so that the writing can be aimed properly. When they do begin to shape the lessons you are shown, we will say so here and in the app.

Your learning

As you use the app, we store what you have done in it:

This exists so the app can show your progress back to you and schedule your reviews. It is your record of your own learning.

Reminders

If you turn on the daily reminder, we store a push token for that device (an address issued by Expo’s push service — it identifies the app install, not you), whether the device is an iPhone or an Android phone, its time zone, and the time of day you asked to be reminded. Without the time zone, a reminder set for 8am would arrive at the wrong hour.

Turning reminders off in Settings stops the sending and deactivates the token.

Messages you send us

If you send feedback from inside the app, we store the subject and the message together with your account, so we can reply and so we can tell whether a problem has been fixed.

Subscriptions

Faith Minute will offer a paid subscription. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google — we never see your card details. What we receive is whether your subscription is currently active, so the app knows what to unlock.

What we deliberately do not collect

Our legal grounds for using it

If you are in the UK or the EU, the law asks us to name a basis for each use:

What Why it is lawful
Email, name, sign-in codes Performance of a contract — without them there is no account and no way to sign in
Age range and gender Legitimate interests — understanding who the app is for, so the lessons can be written and chosen for them
Lesson progress, memorisation, saved lessons Performance of a contract — this is the product working as described
Push notifications Consent — you turn reminders on, and you can turn them off
Feedback you send Legitimate interests — answering you, and fixing what you reported
Subscription status Performance of a contract — unlocking what you paid for

Who else can see it

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We do use a small number of companies to run the app, and they process data strictly on our instructions:

Who What they do
Supabase Hosts the database and the accounts
Resend Delivers your sign-in code email
Expo Relays push notifications to your phone
Apple, Google Deliver notifications to the device, run optional sign-in, and process subscription payments
Cloudflare Serves this website

We may also disclose information if the law genuinely requires it — a court order, for example — or to protect someone’s safety.

Where it is stored

Faith Minute’s database is hosted by Supabase on servers in the United States (AWS, Northern Virginia). Several of the other companies above are American too. So wherever you are reading this, your account and your learning history are stored in the United States.

If you are in the UK or the EU, that is a transfer out of your home jurisdiction, and the law requires us both to tell you it happens and to protect it when it does. It is covered by our data processing agreement with Supabase, which incorporates the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Your account and its learning history are kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, everything tied to it — progress, saved lessons, memorisation cards, push tokens, feedback — is deleted along with it, immediately and permanently. There is no hidden copy waiting to be reactivated.

Backups are kept for a short period for disaster recovery and roll off on their own schedule. Anonymous, aggregate counts that cannot be traced back to a person — how many people completed a lesson on a given day — may be kept.

Deleting your account

Open Settings → Account → Delete account in the app. It takes effect straight away and cannot be undone. If you would rather we did it for you, email support@faithminute.app from the address on the account.

Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account — your progress is on the server, waiting for you to sign in again.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to receive it in a portable form, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent for notifications at any time. Exercising any of these is free, and we will answer within one month.

Email support@faithminute.app and say what you want. If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority — but we would rather you told us first, and gave us the chance to fix it.

Children

Faith Minute is for people aged 14 and over, or older where the country you live in sets a higher minimum age for using an online service without a parent’s consent. The app is not directed at children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Younger children are very welcome to learn from Faith Minute — on a parent’s or guardian’s account, with that adult responsible for it. If you believe a child under 14 has created their own account, email support@faithminute.app and we will delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. The database enforces row-level security, so one account cannot read another’s rows even if the app asked it to. Because Faith Minute has no passwords, there is no password of yours for anyone to leak or reuse.

No system is perfect. If we ever suffer a breach that puts you at risk, we will tell you and the relevant authority, promptly and plainly.

Changes to this policy

As the app grows, this page will change with it. The date at the top always shows when it was last revised. If a change materially affects you — a new kind of data, a new company handling it — we will tell you in the app rather than quietly editing this page.
